Summary- first period

This is what I have been learning in Intermediate English II.

Nowadays English is one of the most important thing in my life.
In this period of time, we have been learning a  lot of things about English, one of this is about "Tag questions", it is used to get extra information about something that you want to know. It is a short question added to the end of a positive or negative statement.
Also we have been studing about "simple past and past perfect"; these are two tenses that are always joined with some periods of time, of course can be used in different ways.

Another interested thing is the use of the auxiliary "shall" which indicates future action, like the auxiliary "will" too. This expression is an informal English. It is commonly used with sentences with first person singular "I" and first person plural "we".
For examples: Shall I go to the movies?
We shall never forget your gift.
It can be used to describe future events such as: inevitability, promises, predestination and suggestion.
It is important to mention something about "modals and causatives", especially those studied such as:
Modals:
  • Must: it is used to show that it is necessary or important to do. Also it means prohibition.
Example: You must go to the doctor.
  • Be able to: is used to express abilities.
Example: He is able to play the piano.
  • May: it is used to express probability.
         Example: You may be right.
  • Might: To indicate that something will possibly happen or be true in the future, but you cannot be certain. Also is the past of may.
Example: You might think I´m right.

Causatives:

  • Have: to give someone the responsability to do something.
Example: Please have your daughter attend at class.

  • Make: to force someone to do something (obligation).
Example: She made her son wash the dishes.

  • Get: to convince or trick someone to do something. Used the verb in infinitive.
Example: She gets her son to attend at the church.

  • Let: implies that someone allows you to do something (permition).
Example:The secretary let you fold the document.

Finally we have been knowing about health matters, cultural awareness, how we can make a medical appointment, types of treatments and so on.

I really enjoy learning English, because I have the chance to know another language, culture, modals, costums  and the opportunity to meet people, who know a lot of things about English and share a better education.

English lets us see all the wonderful experiences that we can have in our studies and in our lives.
